VISUAL REPRESENTATION

This skill is just describing basic drawing skills such as perspective, layout, measurement, and three dimensional modeling. As well as more broadly being able to accompany your work with some kind of image.

Charcoal Reduction Drawing

In this assignment, given my 9th grade year in art class, we began by making the entire page black with charcoal. Then we used gum erasers to create different shades of grey and white, and darkened some sections that were in shadow. In the end is was a shaded depiction of a paper bag.

City Scape

This was the culmination of the perspective unit we did in 9th grade foundational art. We were allowed to design a city as long as it was possible to draw with our level of knowledge. I worked on making the contours of the city visually interesting, and making it look lived.

Outdoors Still-Life

This was a drawing we took from life where we tried to apply the principles of perspective to a real life situation. I worked on making it realistic without oversimplifying it. It was also challenging because sometimes certain aspects of the items we were drawing sagged or were crocked which negatively impacted my ability to trace them to a vanishing point.
