I have played for senior graduations, and speaker events, as well as private concerts and student recitals. I have played at the Rockport Opera House, The Stom Auditorium, Union Hall, The Camden Opera House, The Lincoln St Center, the John St Church and the First Universalist Church in Rockland.

Ballet

I have been doing ballet since I was about 5. I have studied with several teachers over that time, they each brought slightly different approach and background. My first teacher focused on propriety, poise, and elegance. My second teacher, who I studied with for the longest, concentrated on technical abilities, creativity, and connected movement. My most recent teacher concentrates on ease of movement, reinterpretation of traditional forms, and experimentation. Each of them have given me a new perspective and diverse skill set.

Farming

I have worked on a variety of farms over the past few years. I have worked a Herbal Revolution for two summers, and learned about a variety of herbal medicines. I also learned about what their preferred habitat was; their best growing conditions, and proper weed disposal. I also worked at Swell Farm, a small cut flower farm maybe a quarter of a mile from my house. After working on each of these farms I have stayed very close with my bosses, Kathi Langelier, and Tracy Pavan. They continue to be role models for me. Photo Credit: Blue Horse Photography

Engaged in Local Politics

I am engaged in local politics in a few ways: I have attended city council meeting on a regular basis. I have also addressed city council to voice my support for a plastic bag ban in Rockland, and a 10 cent tax for paper bags. I have also written a letter to the editor and submitted it to three local new papers. I know one of them published it but I am not sure whether the others were published. The letter was in support of the 2021 Maine State Constitutional Amendment giving us the right to food.

Acting & Theatre

I did a play every year for 9-10 years, from early child hood until 8th grade when I played Miranda in Shakespeare's the Tempest. In 10th grade I auditioned for a part in a community theatre play but I was too young to be vaccinated for COVID at the time and they needed the whole cast to be vaccinated. In 10th grade I did another theatre class but we did not do a production.

Contemporary Dance

My second teacher, Jimana Lasansky, was the first person to introduce me to Modern, or Contemporary dance. When I did Modern with her we worked on dancing with silks, improvising, and doing a variety of triplet work and even choreography. When I worked with Kea, my third dance teacher, she focused on strength building, precision, and being lyrical. In that class I also worked on a group piece and had the chance to really learn choreography in a focused way. My most recent Modern teacher, Sandee Havunan, was  my mentor for my Dancing Bach project where we worked on telling a story with my dance, and having a deeply ingrained emotional journey in the choreography, most of which I did myself.

Gardening

I have been gardening since I have been old enough to walk. My dad studies permaculture, the practice of sustainable horticulture. I have been helping him graft trees, plant shrubs, and gather wild plants since I was tiny. I have also worked for a lady near by who likes my help and also passes on some of her knowledge.

I have been writing stories and story outlines since I have been able to write. I keep a running list of story ideas which consists of about 40 unfinished ideas right now. I have finished a few though. One is called "Chose Courage" and portrays a young girl who wants to overthrow the oppressive government she lives under.

Childcare

I have always loved kids. As soon as I was old enough to help out with kids at potlucks and gathering I always would. When I was 11 I started doing Mother's Helpering which slowly grew into childcare. I have been working with kids consistently since then. I was offered a nannying position in the summer of 2021, however I turned it down because of COIVD19.
