Hello
I am Scarlet... I am a passionate violinist, student, naturalist, and friend. I enjoy hiking, playing music, hanging out with friends, learning and so much more. Scroll down to find out a bit more about me.

My Story
I live in a rural state in the Northeastern US, called Maine. There I live in a small community and attend a small school called Watershed with about 25 students total if we are lucky. I love Maine because of the natural resources and tight knit community; it is a very dear place to me and I believe wherever I go I will always come back to Maine. My mother is in private practice as a psychotherapist and my dad is a subcontractor and a landscape designer.

I have attended private school for my whole education thus far, from age 4-15 I attended a small Waldorf school and learned about all of the arts including but no limited to theatre, clay modelling, chorus, knitting, wood carving, and visual art. They use a very hands-on and integrated method of teaching which was wonderful for me and have be the reason I am such an avid learner. I love any way I can deepen my knowledge on a verity of subjects. I am now at Watershed which is known for its rigorous academics, strong science program, intimate student teacher relations, and close community.

I was first introduced to violin when I was 9 and it was required for school. I had a knack for it, and really enjoyed it so when I was 10 my parents signed me up for private lessons. It was my second strings teacher at my Waldorf school that really awakened my passion for the instrument though. Her name is Sophie Davis, and she introduced me to chamber music and the communal and connective aspects of music. She also taught me to use music as a mode for social change. I switched private teachers two years into playing violin and began playing with Josie Davis (Sophie's sister) who is also a true inspiration for her skill at teaching and the dream she shares with Sophie of making classical music a way to help change people's minds by allowing them to feel something.
